Google and MediaTek have partnered to create the MT7903, a new Filogic connectivity chipset designed to enhance the Google Home ecosystem. Unveiled at CES 2025, this innovative chipset aims to streamline smart home integration, providing robust, responsive, and secure experiences.
The MT7903 combines tri-band Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 6, and IEEE 802.15.4/Thread radios, offering a comprehensive wireless connectivity solution. This chipset will support the Thread protocol, promoting seamless device interoperability and the Matter standard for increased security. Additionally, the chipset’s low-power feature, Thread border router offload, allows for energy-efficient device connections while the main system-on-chip (SoC) enters sleep mode.
Set to sample in the first half of 2025, the MT7903 will make it easier and more affordable for manufacturers to adopt Thread technology, accelerating the growth of smart home solutions. This collaboration leverages Google’s smart home vision and MediaTek’s expertise in semiconductors, ensuring a future-ready platform for connected homes.
