Blue Connections IT Appoints Katrina Marques to Lead Microsoft and Cloud Expansion

Blue Connections IT has named Katrina Marques as its new head of Microsoft and Cloud Services, marking a key step in the company’s strategic efforts to expand its cloud service offerings and address the growing demand for specialized IT solutions.

With over 15 years of industry experience, Marques specializes in Microsoft 365, SharePoint, and cloud technologies. Her background includes leading technology transformations, information architecture, and internal communications, making her well-suited to drive the company’s cloud portfolio forward.

Her appointment comes at a crucial time as cloud adoption continues to grow rapidly, with businesses eager to capitalize on emerging technologies such as generative AI, edge computing, and serverless architecture.

Paul Wilson, Chief Technology Officer at Blue Connections IT, highlighted the significance of Marques’ appointment. “Katrina’s extensive knowledge of Microsoft’s ecosystem and her proven leadership in technology transformations are invaluable assets to our team,” Wilson said. “Her consultancy experience has already brought much-needed clarity and structure, fostering a culture of collaboration within our Microsoft and cloud solutions team.”

Wilson also emphasized Marques’ ability to simplify complex technical concepts into practical, value-driven solutions, which he believes will greatly benefit Blue Connections IT’s clients.

Before joining Blue Connections IT, Marques served as director at KM Insights for more than six years. She has also held key roles at organizations including Future Fund, ISPT, VicTrack, OnPoint Solutions, Newcrest Mining, Ridley Corporation, BrightStar, iPerform Studios, and CSL.

Looking ahead, Wilson expressed confidence in the company’s future growth in the Microsoft and cloud service space. As a Microsoft Gold Partner and Tier 1 Cloud Solution Provider (CSP), Blue Connections IT is well-positioned to offer expert support for Azure, Microsoft 365, and Windows 365 Cloud PC.

“Future initiatives include expanding readiness assessments for tools like Microsoft Copilot and leveraging our expertise in data governance to help clients optimize cloud costs and maintain compliance,” Wilson added. “With leaders like Katrina at the helm, we are well-equipped to deliver exceptional customer experiences and drive continued innovation.”
