OpenAI Launches ChatGPT Beta for macOS with Coding and Notetaking App Integration

OpenAI has launched a beta update for its ChatGPT application on macOS, enabling direct integration with a wider range of coding and note-taking apps. The update, announced via social media platforms X and LinkedIn, introduces enhanced functionality through both text and voice inputs.

The ChatGPT Beta now supports popular coding platforms such as Warp, IntelliJ IDEA, and PyCharm, available with both the O1 and O1 Pro modes. This expansion allows developers to interact with the app more seamlessly while working in their preferred coding environments.

In addition, the update extends compatibility to note-taking applications including Apple Notes, Notion, and Quip. Users can now navigate these platforms using either text or voice commands. With user consent, ChatGPT can read content from the selected app and provide contextual responses, streamlining workflows for note-taking and coding tasks.

Currently, the beta is available to OpenAI’s Plus, Pro, Team, Enterprise, and Education users. The company has also announced plans to roll out this feature to Windows and free-tier users in the coming year.
