The Las Vegas Sphere has captivated audiences with its breathtaking computer-generated imagery, powered by a robust array of over 150 Nvidia GPUs.
Nvidia revealed in a recent blog post that the visionary project behind the Sphere is utilizing approximately 150 RTX A6000 graphics cards to generate the stunning visuals that grace both the interior and exterior of the $2.3 billion dome-like venue.
The RTX A6000, a workstation GPU launched by Nvidia in December 2020 and currently priced at around $4,500 each, plays a critical role in rendering content for the Sphere’s massive “16K by 16K displays across its interior, as well as 1.2 million programmable LED pucks on its exterior,” according to the company.
These powerful GPUs enable the Sphere to showcase a wide range of imagery, often used to promote concerts and special events hosted at the venue. Sphere Studios, based in Burbank, California, is responsible for creating custom video content tailored to the venue’s enormous displays, ensuring a mesmerizing experience for all who visit.
