Hundreds of employees at a Samsung Electronics facility in southern India have launched an indefinite strike to press for increased wages, leading to partial disruptions in production, according to a union leader.
The strike follows a recent labor dispute involving Samsung’s largest union in South Korea, which staged a four-day strike in August. The South Korean strike was driven by demands for higher wages and bonuses after negotiations with management reached an impasse.
