You.com Secures $50 Million in Series B Funding to Enhance AI-Powered Productivity Tools

Collaborative AI-powered productivity engine You.com has successfully raised $50 million in its latest Series B funding round. The investment, spearheaded by Georgian, a prominent growth-stage B2B investor, underscores the company’s accelerating growth and innovation in the AI space.

The funding round saw participation from notable investors including Salesforce Ventures, NVIDIA, Gen Digital, SBVA, DuckDuckGo, and Day One Ventures. These contributions highlight growing confidence in You.com’s unique approach to leveraging artificial intelligence for productivity enhancements.

Founded in 2021 by Salesforce veterans Richard Socher and Bryan McCann, You.com is known for its advanced AI agents that facilitate research and problem-solving with benchmarked accuracy. The platform allows users to develop custom AI agents tailored to specific tasks, utilizing models from leading AI developers such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Meta, and Google.

To date, You.com has garnered millions of active users, spanning hedge funds, tech unicorns, and publicly traded companies. The platform has fielded over 1 billion queries since its inception. This latest round of investment will enable You.com to further innovate and expand its offerings.

Recent updates include the introduction of a multiplayer AI feature within its Team plan, transforming the platform from a single-user mode to a collaborative, team-oriented environment. This new functionality allows teams to build and share custom AI agents, exchange chat threads, and manage unlimited file uploads without data retention issues.

In addition, You.com continues to enhance its product with features such as AI research agents capable of executing multiple searches from a single prompt, an AI genius agent designed for complex problem-solving via conversational prompts, and customizable AI agents for various tasks.

Margaret Wu, Lead Investor at Georgian, emphasized the impact of You.com’s technology on market research and synthesis. “Our investment team has benefited significantly from You.com’s capabilities, experiencing substantial time savings in our daily operations,” Wu noted. “We believe that the company’s deep talent pool and technical prowess will keep it ahead of competitors in this rapidly evolving market.”

Richard Socher and Bryan McCann, the visionaries behind You.com, recognized an opportunity to revolutionize the online search experience. “In a landscape where billions of queries were answered with simple lists of blue links, we aimed to offer something more,” said Socher. “Our AI agents are designed to boost productivity for knowledge workers, providing rapid, accurate responses, comprehensive research, problem-solving, and content creation.”

Socher and McCann, who pioneered innovations such as contextualized word vectors and prompt engineering during their tenure at Salesforce, have positioned You.com as a trailblazer in AI-integrated search solutions. Their early integration of LLMs into search experiences set the stage for advancements in AI technology, well before the advent of ChatGPT.
