Charter Communications (CHTR.O) has announced that it will now include Warner Bros. Discovery’s Max and Discovery+ streaming services at no additional cost for its subscribers. This move, revealed on Thursday, could significantly increase Charter’s customer base by enhancing its cable and broadband packages.
In response to the news, Warner Bros. Discovery’s stock rose approximately 7% in morning trading, while Charter’s shares saw a more than 2% increase. Under the renewed multi-year agreement, Spectrum TV Select customers will gain access to an ad-supported version of Max, which features content from both HBO and Discovery+. As the largest pay TV provider in the U.S., Charter’s expansion of its service offerings underscores its commitment to delivering added value to its subscribers.
