Microsoft Appoints Former GE CFO as Chief Operations Officer Amid AI Expansion

Microsoft (MSFT.O) announced on Thursday the appointment of Carolina Dybeck Happe, former Chief Financial Officer at General Electric (GE.N), as its new Chief Operations Officer. This move comes as Microsoft seeks to strengthen its executive team in response to its intensified focus on artificial intelligence.

Dybeck Happe, who served as GE’s finance chief from March 2020 to September 2023, played a crucial role in the company’s financial turnaround. Her tenure also included overseeing the successful spin-off of GE Vernova, the energy infrastructure unit, in April 2024. Her extensive experience is expected to drive Microsoft’s operational strategies as the tech giant continues to invest heavily in AI technologies.
