Pudu Robotics Unveils Advanced AI-Powered Semi-Humanoid Robot

Pudu Robotics has launched its groundbreaking semi-humanoid robot, the Pudu D7, marking a significant leap in the field of service robotics. Unveiled on Thursday, the D7 showcases the company’s commitment to innovation, with plans for full commercialization set for next year.

Felix Zhang, founder and CEO of Pudu Robotics, emphasized the robot’s importance in the company’s vision. “The Pudu D7 demonstrates our dedication to continuous technological advancement,” he stated. “With its advanced mobility, versatile operational capabilities, and embodied intelligence, this robot represents a milestone in our development of diverse robotic solutions. Our goal is to shape the future of the service robotics industry and provide exceptional value across various applications.”

The Pudu D7 is the first general embodied intelligent semi-humanoid robot from the company. It embodies a strategic vision focusing on three types of robotics: specialized robots for specific tasks, semi-humanoid robots for adaptable applications, and fully humanoid robots for complex human interactions.

Standing at 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighing 99 pounds, the Pudu D7 boasts a human-like upper body equipped with robotic arms and a fully omnidirectional chassis. Its design enables it to tackle complex tasks across various environments, including industrial settings, marking a significant step toward adaptable robotic solutions.

The robot features an extendable arm capable of reaching up to two feet with 30 degrees of motion. Its dexterous hand attachment can expand to 50 degrees, and the bionic arms can lift weights of up to 22 pounds. Battery-powered, the Pudu D7 can operate continuously for over eight hours, excelling in tasks such as operating elevators, transporting items, and sorting tasks.

Employing a multi-layered intelligence system, the Pudu D7 combines data-driven embodied intelligence with advanced AI strategies. This allows it to understand and respond to complex scenarios, while also continuously learning and refining its operations over time.

With the Pudu D7, Pudu Robotics aims to redefine service robotics, addressing operational challenges and paving the way for a new era of intelligent automation.
