Huawei’s much-anticipated $2,800 Mate XT smartphone officially hit the market in China on Friday, coinciding with the release of Apple’s iPhone 16 Pro Max. However, the launch left many Huawei enthusiasts disappointed as the premium device was not available for walk-in purchases.
At Huawei’s flagship store in Shenzhen, eager fans, some identifying as “super fans,” expressed frustration upon learning that only customers with confirmed pre-orders could buy the tri-foldable Mate XT. This restriction dampened excitement around the product, which is priced more than twice that of Apple’s latest offering.
