Intel’s China division reaffirmed its commitment to product safety and quality on Thursday in response to calls from a prominent Chinese cybersecurity association for a review of the U.S. chipmaker’s products sold in the country.
In a statement shared via its official WeChat account, Intel emphasized that it has always prioritized safety and quality in its products. “We will maintain communication with the relevant authorities, clarify any concerns, and reaffirm our commitment to product safety and quality,” the company stated.
The request for a security review from China’s cyberspace regulator could significantly impact Intel’s sales in the region, which accounted for more than 25% of the company’s total revenue last year.
