Tech Mahindra and AWS Launch AI-Powered Network Operations Platform

Tech Mahindra and Amazon Web Services (AWS) have announced a strategic collaboration to develop an AI-powered network operations platform designed to drive significant advancements in telecom operations. The new platform, named the Autonomous Network Operations Platform (ANOP), will allow telecom service providers (CSPs) to transition their network operations from traditional on-premises infrastructure to a more agile, real-time, and proactive hybrid cloud model, the companies revealed on Wednesday.

    Leveraging GenAI and AWS Services

This partnership combines Tech Mahindra’s expertise in telecom networks and Generative AI (GenAI) with AWS’s advanced cloud technologies. Key to the platform’s functionality is Amazon SageMaker, a fully managed service that allows businesses across industries to build, train, and deploy machine learning models. With this integration, ANOP will enable enhanced productivity in Network Operations Centers (NOCs), improving the efficiency of teams managing both physical and cloud infrastructure by over 50%. Additionally, the platform will reduce field visits by more than 15% and cut the Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) for network incidents by upwards of 30%, according to Tech Mahindra.

The collaboration also incorporates Amazon Bedrock, a fully managed service that provides access to foundation models (FMs) from leading AI enterprises. Bedrock’s capabilities are critical for building GenAI applications while ensuring the security, privacy, and ethical standards of artificial intelligence.

A New Era in Network Management

“Our collaboration with AWS empowers telecom operators to simplify their operations, modernize their networks, and unlock new revenue opportunities through the integration of advanced AI and machine learning,” said Manish Mangal, Chief Technology Officer of Telecom and Global Business Head at Tech Mahindra. The AI-driven capabilities of ANOP will offer telecom operators real-time insights, intelligent workflows, and support the adoption of Open Ran (O-RAN) for more efficient and proactive network management.

Tech Mahindra is also working with AWS to test and validate O-RAN functions on Amazon’s EKS Anywhere (EKS-A) platform. The collaboration aims to accelerate the cloudification of Radio Access Networks (RAN) at the network edge. This joint testing will focus on Distributed Unit and Central Unit network functions, which are essential for optimizing RAN’s performance.

Driving Operational Efficiency with Generative AI

AWS’s Robin Harwani, Head of Telco Industry Solutions, highlighted the impact of the collaboration: “This partnership will enable network operators to receive actionable, just-in-time recommendations powered by generative AI. These insights will optimize NOC operations, field dispatch, and even automate self-healing actions for preventive maintenance.” The result, Harwani added, will be more proactive network management and reduced operational expenditures for telecom operators.

Tech Mahindra is already implementing ANOP with a leading European communications provider to enhance its network operations through process automation and optimization.

    Tech Mahindra’s Broader AI Ambitions

In a separate development, Tech Mahindra unveiled the launch of TechM agentX, a suite of GenAI-powered solutions aimed at driving intelligent automation across global enterprises. The solutions are designed to address inefficiencies in traditional operations, offering significant improvements in productivity, scalability, and user experience.

The first solution in the TechM agentX suite, agentAssistX, is a GenAI-powered, agentless support system for business, IT, and end-user services. The solution is designed to unify and optimize support processes, making IT support more scalable and efficient. By integrating with IT service management (ITSM) software and cloud management tools, agentAssistX can automate ticket resolution and provisioning, improving support efficiency by up to 70%.

Kunal Purohit, President of Next Gen Services at Tech Mahindra, emphasized the importance of the new solutions: “The launch of TechM agentX marks a significant step in our vision of AI-driven enterprise automation. By streamlining complex processes and enhancing productivity, agentAssistX will enable enterprises to deliver seamless user experiences and achieve scalability across multiple systems.”

Tech Mahindra’s AI Innovations Expand Further

Additionally, Tech Mahindra continues to invest in artificial intelligence with the creation of a new Center of Excellence (CoE) powered by Nvidia. Announced on October 24, the CoE focuses on advancing sovereign large language models (LLMs), agentic AI, and physical AI. Using Nvidia’s AI Enterprise software platform, including NeMo, NIM microservices, and RAPIDS, the CoE will deliver customized AI applications to help clients integrate AI-driven solutions into their operations.

The CoE will also utilize Nvidia’s Omniverse platform to develop connected industrial AI digital twins and physical AI applications for sectors such as manufacturing, automotive, telecommunications, healthcare, and financial services.

With these developments, Tech Mahindra is positioning itself at the forefront of AI innovation, providing businesses with powerful tools to automate operations, optimize network performance, and accelerate digital transformation.
