Capella AI Services includes several key features such as model hosting, automated vectorization, unstructured data preprocessing, and an AI agent catalog. Carl Olofson, Vice President of IDC Research, remarked that the rise of AI agents is creating new data management challenges for businesses. “Couchbase Capella and its new AI Services are designed to strategically address these challenges, providing enterprises with scalable architecture and the flexibility required to manage complex retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) workflows,” Olofson said.
Capella AI Services is particularly focused on simplifying the integration of RAG pipelines, a key feature for developing AI-driven applications. It provides developers with the flexibility to use existing skills and tools, including the SQL++ query language, while ensuring secure interactions with models and maintaining high performance.
