Google Cloud has partnered with Air France-KLM (AFKL) to enhance the airline group’s data management and generative AI capabilities. The collaboration aims to accelerate AFKL’s multi-cloud strategy, improve customer experiences, and optimize operations through advanced data analytics and AI.
AFKL, which operates over 550 aircraft and served 93 million passengers in 2023, is transitioning to cloud-based infrastructure to harness its data more effectively. By utilizing Google Cloud’s tools like BigQuery, AFKL will gain insights into passenger behavior and optimize operations such as predictive aircraft maintenance, reducing analysis time from hours to minutes.
Generative AI will also play a key role, with early applications focused on automating customer support and aircraft maintenance. The partnership includes building a shared data lakehouse and creating a secure, dedicated AI instance to drive innovation.
Google Cloud will provide training to Air France-KLM teams, fostering data-driven decision-making and enhancing AI capabilities. The collaboration aims to position Air France-KLM at the forefront of the future of air travel, with a strong emphasis on security, efficiency, and innovation.
