The 2024 AI in Teaching Summit, hosted by the Taiwan Technology Leadership and Instructional Technology Development Association, Microsoft Taiwan, the Global TEAM Model Education Research Institute, and MetaAge, successfully brought together over 500 educators to explore the growing role of AI in classrooms.
Held as a hybrid event, the summit attracted a diverse group of participants, including education bureau representatives, school principals, department heads, and teachers from across Taiwan. One of the event’s key highlights was the “AI-Integrated Teaching Plan Selection,” with nearly 1,700 teachers submitting innovative lesson plans incorporating generative AI tools like HiTeach. A compilation of the top 20 plans was shared electronically with attendees, offering valuable resources for educators.
The summit’s keynote sessions featured speakers from Microsoft Taiwan, the Global TEAM Model Education Research Institute, and MetaAge, who discussed the integration of AI into education and global trends in digital learning. Topics included AI-assisted teaching tools, professional development, and strategies to strengthen Taiwan’s education ecosystem.
The Chairman of the Taiwan Technology Leadership and Instructional Technology Development Association highlighted the Ministry of Education’s “Digital Learning Advancement Program” and “One Tablet per Student” initiative, which have driven digital learning nationwide. As AI technology evolves, the goal is to enhance teaching efficiency, streamline learning, and create smarter educational environments, aligning with Taiwan’s broader digital transformation goals.
