Nvidia Plans to Establish Regional Headquarters in Taiwan

Nvidia Corporation (NASDAQ: NVDA) is planning to build a new headquarters in Taiwan, according to a report from local news outlet Commercial Times on Monday. The report cites a government official familiar with the matter.

The chipmaker is reportedly focusing on Taipei as the location for its regional headquarters and is seeking approximately three hectares of land for the project. The local city government is reportedly assisting Nvidia in securing the site.

Taiwan plays a crucial role in Nvidia’s supply chain, with the company relying heavily on Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) (NYSE: TSMC), the island’s largest chipmaker, to produce its advanced artificial intelligence chips. Nvidia also maintains partnerships with major electronics manufacturer Foxconn (SS: 601138), formally known as Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. Ltd. (TW: 2317).

Earlier this year, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang announced plans to expand the company’s presence in Taiwan, including the establishment of a research and development hub. Huang also revealed plans to hire over 1,000 employees in the coming years to support the company’s growth in the region.
